Start the Italian testing of Traditional Farming learning module

04/05/2022 Assergi, Italy

The Italian partner of the Erasmus VALOR Project – the Gran Sasso and Laga Mountains National Park – has started the testing phase of the learning modules with a selection of young people interested in attending the experimental learning course for «Manager and Technician in resilient and sustainable agriculture».

Twenty-two volunteers were selected from high school students, agricultural institutes,
undergraduates/graduates in agricultural and zootechnical disciplines but also in Landscape Architecture and International Sciences. On 3 May the first introductory meeting was held to present the valor courses and their main contents.

The «online» method of administering and testing the course also allows professionals already working in the sector to participate despite the distances involved. The classes that have been set up include professionals from outside the region, such as Veneto and Basilicata. Classes to test the first module are scheduled to take place weekly in May.

The National Park, in order to start the official course this year, is cooperating with regional and national authorities for the certification of VALOR courses in Italy and, by the end of the experiment, will involve teachers and experts in the sector in informative meetings.
